JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an employee in the Operations and Maintenance department, you will perform various tasks throughout the year with a focus on the operation and maintenance of public environments in the city/community and urban-adjacent areas. We are now looking for machine operators for the new machinery unit.

The tasks for this position will primarily be based on the needs of street operations as drivers of the machinery unit's trucks, wheel loaders, or implement carriers. The opportunities in this position will be shaped based on the applicant's interests, skills, and experiences.

The unit's vehicles consist entirely of trucks, crane trucks, implement carriers, wheel loaders, street sweepers, lawn mowers, and tractors, with several vehicles potentially being relevant in the long term. The tasks performed by the unit range from maintaining street environments and snow and ice control to lawn mowing and manual work in urban-adjacent forests, depending on the season.

The majority of the work is done in collaboration with other units in the Operations and Maintenance department. We work in groups but also independently during periods. You are responsible, together with your colleagues, for ensuring that assigned tasks are carried out correctly and safely. The work requires good collaboration skills, a service-oriented attitude, responsibility, and good physical fitness. We appreciate curiosity and interest in working with digital tools in professional practice.

The position is full-time, and working hours may be scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends depending on the season.

On-call duty during the winter months is included in the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a high school or vocational education in construction, vehicles, green space management, or forestry, or equivalent work experience as assessed by the employer.

We require a B driver's license for manual transmission, but we would also like you to have a C driver's license (and YKB) or other driving certificates. It is advantageous if you have qualifications for brush cutters and chainsaws as well as work on roads. You must be proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, and be a regular user of digital tools such as computers and smartphones, as this is part of your daily work.

You are accustomed to and enjoy working both in a group and independently. It is expected that you have a self-driven approach to work and actively contribute to its planning and execution. You demonstrate responsibility and attention to detail in your tasks. You have an understanding of the whole and our common mission. To effectively carry out our tasks, we require high collaboration skills, both within the units and within the department. We expect you to meet changes in work positively and constructively, and that you have the ability to be flexible and adaptable.

Our Operations and Maintenance department conducts service activities, which requires you to have a sense of and willingness to provide service. It is important to understand diversity and social contacts. You feel comfortable with what we represent and have the ability to meet both colleagues and municipal residents with respect and understanding.
